Latex Tutorial by DrewGardner Latex Tutorial by DrewGardner
I don't claim to be an expert, and this is by no means the only or best way to render a latex-effect, but a couple of people requested a tutorial, so here it is.
I would be interested to see the results of anybody's attempt to try this technique! If you do, note me!

first tutorial i have faved, well first one i came across actually... You make it look so easy but for an absolute beginner like moi is there any particular tutorial or program you would recommend? i am a capable line artist but have no idea of how to move into CG or even if that is the right term lol.. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! It's simpler than it looks and it also learns you to focus on your lineart beforehand (I learned that the hard way). Anyway, I used this tutorial as my reference for this work: [link] I need to refine my technique a bit more to get a more satisfactory result out of it though...

Strange, this is actualy a lot more simple than I thought. It would fit in nicely with my existing style.
Gotta give this a try, especially the soft white outlines.

I need to try that, but I'm not really good with brushes. Like, calculating size or configuring it.

If it helps, I set the "softness" of my brushes to zero.
The relative size of the brush depends on the size of the image, but about 100 or 150 is the size I tend to use the most.

Very, very neat to see how you approached it. I may not be very good at coloring, but this HAS given me a few ideas to try out next time I give a shot to shading. Logical, pretty easy to follow... just have to get better at using the tools in PS! XD

Thanks for sharing the tutorial - they're always fun to see and the more opinions out there, the more we have to try things from! :)
